Advancing to the DIVA Tournament

Please note that this year, 1st and 2nd place teams from each site will advance to the DIVA Affiliate Tournament!  This includes projectOUTREACH, as this year the scoring structure for that challenge has changed.  In addition, we have one WILDCARD team that we will send on to the Affiliate Tournament!  In order to be elibigle for a WILDCARD draw, a team must have placed 1st in either the Central Challenge or Instant Challenge but not have placed 1st, 2nd, or 3rd overall.

Wow!  Four Tidewater teams placed 1st in the Affiliate competition this weekend!  These four teams represent four different challenges and three different cities in the Tidewater area!  Congratulations to:

• The Killer Beavs of Kemps Landing Magnet School in Virginia Beach (Unidentified Moving Object ML) 
• The Fly Crew from Crestwood Intermediate in Chesapeake (Spinning a Tale EL) 
• The Hairy Thinkers from Woodstock Elementary in Virginia Beach (Triple Take Road Show EL)
• and The Purple Pie-Eating Pandas of Larchmont Elementary in Norfolk (Mythology Mission EL)

Congratulations also to our projectOUTREACH team, The Contaminatingly Devilish Whispers of Plaza Middle School!  They earned an EXCELLENT in their challenge and will be applying to attend Global Finals!  We wish all of them the best of luck on the road to Tennessee, and congratulations to all the Tidewater teams who competed this weekend!  We hope to see you again next year!
